"MAKE IT MARIKINA!" Year 2012
At a time when Marikina is faced with a lot of stumbling blocks to its quest for a better quality of life for its residents ... we celebrate the New Year and enjoin one and all to "Make it Marikina!" in 2012.
Make it Marikina Year 2012 is a marketing campaign to attract new investors, new residents, and visitors; and, to promote local products and services.
Mayor Del R. de Guzman declared 2012 as "Make it Marikina!" Year, thus we have the whole year of 2011 to ensure its success by preparing everything necessary to make it easier for people to choose Marikina over other cities of the metropolis.
We have one whole year to improve on our infrastructure, our telecommunications, our ease of doing business, our educational and health system, our peace and order, and our basic government services.
Our success is YOUR success as well. More investments and additional residents with higher disposable incomes mean an expanded tax base to fuel more progressive programs that will benefit Marikenyos. A substantial increase in tourist arrivals means more jobs because of the so called "multiplier effect" of tourism to a place's economy.
